Victoria Beckham’s Baby will be a Foot Problem

The star couple, Victoria and David Beckham, is expecting their fourth child. The world is well aware of Victoria’s horrific foot problems. She has some of the best known bunions among celebrities. What can she expect in her feet while expecting? And should her kids expect to be plagued with the same ugly bunions?

As baby Beckham grows over the nine months, Mama Beckham’s body will go through a number of transitions. The extra weight is the most obvious result of pregnancy but the growing belly is more than just a change of appearance. Pain, swelling, and varicose veins are only a few of the problems in the legs in feet.

The increased weight puts more stress on your feet and the focal weight gain in the belly also changes the woman’s center of gravity. This cause changes in the way the expecting mom stands, walks, and distributes her weight across her joints. It is not surprising that many pregnant women complain of joint pain or generalized pain in their feet. The extra weight can also flatten the foot. The arch is formed by our bone structure but supported by tendons and ligaments. With such fast increases in weight, the ligaments tend to give a little and have a more difficult time supporting the arch.

The increase pressure caused by the growing baby puts increased stress on a large vein in the abdomen. This pressure makes it more difficult for the fluid in your legs to make it back to your heart. This will result in swelling in the legs and feet. Many women will notice that their expected gift has caused them to have difficult fitting in their shoes. The average woman’s foot size will increase by a half size with each pregnancy.

Since Victoria is already plagued with foot problems, the pregnancy will aggravate her symptoms. The best thing she can do to stay comfortable is to wear appropriate shoes and orthotics that will support her achy foot. Good shoes not only give you additional support but they also are shock absorbers and will help decrease the stress on the joints. This would be a great time to ditch the heels but I can’t even imagine Posh Spice hitting the streets anything but stilettos.

Are we worried about the Beckham’s children feet? There is genetic links with different foot disorders and it is not unlikely that we will see more Beckham bunions in the future. High heels will always make any foot condition worse. Luckily, her three sons are not expected to be spending much of their life in their mom’s stilettos, but on the other hand, who knows?
